Example for Post a prompt

http://www.thebookbus.org/

Here is a link for the foundation we are supporting.

Creative Writing Competition

Post a Prompt.

£1 an entry...

Three winners will be drawn out of a hat, and will receive a copy of the final collection. A portion of the entry fees will go to Book Bus Foundation to fund the "Book in every hand" campaign.

Task....I am asking people from all different occupations to send me a significant postcard - the front side has meaning to you (i.e. relevant to your career, hobby etc.)
On the back of the postcard please write your name, the date of writing and your occupation followed by:

1) a top tip from you: please write something that you would tell somebody as a means to inspire them to follow their dreams
an example: keep persevering - my grandfather wrote: if at first you don't succeed, try and try again.
Keep practising etc.

2) a simple one-line writer's prompt: this can be anything from a word that means something to you to e.g the first line of a novel you have read/ a character sketch

other examples: 'write a story based on the line "life begins at 90"' or "describe the smell of the moon"

3) write down 5 items that are present at the time of writing the postcard. This could be anything from the first 5 things you can see to 5 items in your fridge.

I will be really grateful if you could take part; I am aiming to get enough responses for every day of the year. I wish to publish a book for people with writer's block, so that they can read through the postcards to find inspiration and encouragement. As stated above, the three winners will receive a copy of the final result.

If you wish to send me a postcard, please e-mail me at pseudenhampress@gmail.com so I can forward our address...No time wasters please...

Many Thanks

Lou
